The international A Cappella Competition is a worldwidely attended event that takes part anually in the Austrian city of Graz.
In the context of this outstanding series of events we could present numerous wonderful vocal groups from all over the world to our local audience.
For many of these groups the success at vokal.total has been the starting point of an international carreer.
First the competition started out as part of a larger choire festival that took place in the years 1999 and 2000. After it has first been held in the year 2001 it has become the central part of this festival.

- A Cappella Jazz Ensemble
- A Cappella Comedy Ensemble
- Classical Vocal Ensemble
It it is awarded as GOLD, SILVER and BRONCE award to the three best performing vocal groups of all four categories.
The GOLD awards also comes with a prize money of € 1.500,- in each category.
Additionally we are happy to have found the Austrian microphone manufacturer AKG as a sponsor and partner for many years. This way we can award our contestants also with material prizes with courtesy of AKG.
Every participant will also receive a vokal.total diploma - these are also awarded in the categories gold, silver and bronce.
These four main categories have been extended by the vokal.total Beatbox Shootout.
The unique event that anually brings world's best beatbox artists to Graz is hosted by vokal.total and is now open to public! A jury of beatbox veterans chooses the contestants for the upcoming event instead. A preselection of 8 candidates will be held via YouTube. These victorious eight will be rewarded with a travel aid of € 100,- and every further victory will bring another bounty!
The survivor of the shootout can earn a total of € 1.000,- by winning all one-on-one battles!
