During this workshop, Daniel Barke will discuss common errors, what causes them, and how to get rid of them. You will work on timing, groove, blending, intonation and group sound, so that your full musical performance can improve and maybe, a little revolution in you vocal expertise will be provoked.

Get to know new ways of using your voice through „Figures for Voice Control“ – Exercises for free singing. Experience new sounds through exercises based on scientific research. This workshop by Corinne Mager will introduce you to the ‘recipes’ for six voice qualities: Speech, Falsetto, Sob, Twang, Opera and Belt. We will focus on the tools and we’ll separate the “singing technique” from the art.

Simple exercises soon pay off and you’ll be able to use your newly acquired tools to apply to your pieces and challenges. Although all qualities of your voice are most welcome, a health biased approach is the foundation of Estill Voice Training.

Learn to identify and avoid risky techniques, link theoretical input with body- and sound-feedback to get quick results and quickly improve your voice. This workshop does not only address singers, actors, managers, teachers or professional speakers, but simply every one with a voice!

Recording/Producing A Cappella – Andrea Figallo

Friday July 19th – 10.30am until 12.30pm

Sign up now!

JJF-Konservatorium, R404
Griesgasse 27, 8020 Graz

1 I want to capture the energy of the live performance.
2 I want the recording to have “life”.
3 I want to hear the small details that, with the group, we have rehearsed for a very long time.
4 I want the recording to sound good, and I want it to sound good for many more years to come.

A recording is, for its nature, artificial.

Voices are endlessly unpredictable, and humans are more sensitive to variations and manipulations to the voice than they are to instruments. For this reason the human voice requires more artificial manipulation to get to sound natural and transparent in the final product.

An overview of techniques and methods to approach and manage the recording production process.

Andrea Figallo is very well known in the A Cappella scene. He studied voice and drama in Bologna, conducted choirs and performed with various vocal ensembles before joining the Flying Pickets and the Wise Guys later on. Today he is a sought-after vocal coach in seminars, workshops and master classes. He also appeared on Bobby McFerrin’s new CD “VOCAbuLarieS”.
